NVS Supplier Code of Conduct
NVS Promo takes pride in making sure that all of its suppliers commit to abiding to a code of conduct that supports not only our values but also reflects the evolving values and ethical standards of the international supply-chain community. The NVS Supplier Code of conduct is an ever evolving set of standards that was crafted around existing policy that has been published by leading international supply chain, social accountability, environmental and labor watchdogs from around the globe. Our policy is focused on, but not limited to the areas bulleted below.

Forced Labor
Our suppliers have committed to never using any form of forced labor. This includes but is not limited to indentured labor, involuntary labor, prison labor, bonded or slave labor.

Human Rights & Humane Treatment of workers
Workers must be treated and managed with principles and policies borne out of a respect for basic human rights and humane treatment of others. Verbal, physical or mental harassment and/or coercion is not to be permitted and policies must be in place to identify, report and correct behavior or management techniques which venture into this territory. Workers assigned to tasks and/or work that is particularly labor intensive, which may require extended periods of standing or has requirements that, over time, a reasonable person would consider to be particularly stressful on the human body must be given breaks and rest periods commensurate with the tasks at hand.

Child Labor
Child labor of any kind is expressly prohibited by any NVS Promo suppliers. Suppliers must comply with the minimum age requirements as set forth by the laws governing labor in that country and/or local province. Workers below the age of 18 should be restricted from performing tasks that either will, or are highly likely to put their health and/or safety in undue peril due to the materials or machines they need to work with or the physical demands which may be required.

Freedom of Association
NVS Promo supports the rights of employees to organize or group together to increase their ability to advocate on their behalf. NVS suppliers pledge that they will not take any steps to interfere with or deny, either directly or indirectly the rights of employees to organize and collectively bargain.

Assignment of labor
Suppliers must commit to assign tasks and/or labor in a humane fashion guided by common sense principles. Workers below the age of 18 or female workers of any age must not be asked to perform tasks or duties in which a reasonable person would admit the task realistically requires the more substantial physical frame and/or strength of a physically developed male and therefore places unreasonable risk of injury to a female or otherwise underdeveloped employee.

Non-Discrimination
NVS suppliers must not discriminate in the hiring and/or employment practices including compensation on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation or any other characteristic protected by the employment regulations of the nation or local province.

Hours & Wages
Suppliers must commit to equitable compensation for all employees that is on par with the fair market rates in the locale where the work is performed. Compensation should accurately the reflect the type of work performed as well as any mitigating factors including but not limited to the skill and/or hazard required to perform the assigned duties. Overtime wages must be calculated accurately and paid timely in accordance with local laws. Accurate records of hours worked and wages paid must be kept by the supplier and they should be able to provide them to auditing teams in a timely fashion.

Safety Equipment
NVS Promo requires that all of its suppliers provide the proper safety equipment necessary to perform their assigned tasks in the safest manner possible. This includes but is not limited to providing where applicable: safety gloves, protective masks & clothing, proper ventilation equipment, adequate lighting and protective guards. Workers should be provided with an effective means of reporting unsafe working conditions and there should be a policy in place for the timely correction of unsafe conditions. Workers should able be afforded the opportunity to refuse to work in an environment they personally deem to be unsafe without fear of retaliation from management.

Emergency Procedures
Suppliers in the NVS Promo supply chain must have adequate emergency policies in place and communicate them regularly to employees. Emergency policies and procedures should include but are not limited to: cleanup of potentially hazardous spills, fire suppression, urgent medical attention and employee evacuation.

Social Auditing
NVS Promo supports timely third party auditing of supplier facilities and can arrange for current audits to be performed for distributors who require it for projects of scale.

Recycled Materials
NVS Promo proudly uses recycled plastics in nearly all of its products and we actively promote the use of either recycled or recyclable materials in our product line. We are always pushing our manufacturers to increase the recycled content of supplied product and where able we will direct that such materials and/or components be used.

Energy use Reduction
NVS Promo proactively manages its internal office systems to reduce the amount of energy used in our day to day operations. Systems include but are not limited to, motion detectors, electrical timers and automated management of air conditioning facilities.

CA Prop 65
CA Proposition 65, the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, was enacted as a California ballot initiative in November 1986. The Proposition was intended by its authors to protect California citizens and the State's drinking water sources from chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm, and to inform citizens about exposures to such chemicals. The statute states that "no person in the course of doing business shall knowingly and intentionally expose any individual to a chemical known to the state (California) to cause cancer or reproductive toxicity without first giving a clear and reasonable warning..."
NVS Promo is committed to providing safe and compliant products for our customers. Our products to our knowledge do not contain chemicals at concentrations that would require a Proposition 65 warning label. However, we cannot test every piece of every order for the nearly 800 chemicals listed in Prop 65. Distributors with concern about Prop 65 should request that a warning label be applied to each product, which we will include at no additional charge. The warning label as shown below will ensure compliance with California Proposition 65 regulatory requirements:

Distributors must specifically request that the warning label be applied when submitting their order. If buyer and/or distributor fail to provide NVS Promo with advance written notice indicating that prop 65 labels are required, then buyer and/or distributor will indemnify and hold harmless NVS Promo, its agents, employees, and affiliated companies from and against all claims (including, without limitation, violation of Prop 65, personal injury and property damage) and from all other costs, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including, without limitation, attorney fees, costs, and litigation expense).

Child-Safety Disclosure
NVS Promo Designs is a wholesale supplier and contract manufacturer. We do not offer, nor do we intend to offer products that are designed as or that could be reasonably construed to be childrens products or toys. NVS Promo supplied products may contain small parts, edged metals, batteries and products of a small or an electical nature. NVS Promo reminds distributors, buyers, and ultimately the end users of our products that while we work hard to ensure that all of our products are generally safe, our products are not necessarily designed to be specifically safe for children to handle or use in a general and/or unsupervised setting. In short, our products are not toys.
Please be aware that many of our products may be of a size that a child can easily handle and in many cases the bright colors, unique shapes and vibrant decorations of our products may make ours, (or any other promotional item) particularly attractive to a child. We here at NVS are parents of small children. As with anything, we remind parents and guardians to closely monitor anything that is within your child's reach and our products are no exception.
By using NVS Promo you agree that NVS Promo cannot be help responsible for any claims relating to the improper handling of our products by a young child or anyone else a reasonable person would deem requires attentive supervision. This includes but is not limited to: improper use, improper handling, consumption, choking, deconstruction or anything else a reasonable person might conclude was a problem related to the product(s) ending up in the hands of an individual(s) who should not have had it in the first place.
